Born in Wythenshawe, Manchester,[1] Fisher started his career with Stockport County and made his debut on 24 April 2009, coming on as a 89th minute substitute as part of the 4–3 victory over Crewe Alexandra.[3] Fisher scored his first goal in professional football in Stockport's 2–2 draw with Accrington Stanley on 28 September 2010.[4] On 19 May 2011 Stockport revealed they had released Fisher following their relegation from the Football League. He made 31 appearences and scored one goal in all competitions.[5] In May 2011 it was announced by the club for the 2011–12 season that he had been released.[6]
Later that summer Fisher was handed a trial by Macclesfield Town.[7] After impressing in the trial he signed on a one year contract with Macclesfield.[8]
On 4 November 2011, he was loaned out to Conference North side Hyde on an initial one-month loan deal.[9] He made his debut just a day later in a 4–0 home win over Histon.[10] He scored his first goal for the club on his fifth appearence in a 3–2 win over Colwyn Bay, coming on as a second-half substitute. His winning goal was described as a 'screamer'.[11] In December 2011, after six league appearences, one FA Trophy appearence and one goal,[12] he returned to Macclesfield.[13]
